sflwl - Query Speak Freely Look Who's Listening client

DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN
ssffllwwll is a client program which requests contact informa
tion from a server running the Speak Freely Look Who's
Listening server (ssffllwwlldd). ssffllwwll allows users to find one
another and establish Speak Freely conversations even if
one or both have dial-up Internet connections where the
host name and Internet address vary from session to ses
sion.
Each _u_s_e_r___n_a_m_e is matched against the E-mail address and
full user name of active users who have informed the Look
Who's Listening site of their presence. If the _u_s_e_r___n_a_m_e
occurs within either of these fields, the IP address and
port on which matching users are listening are listed.
Options allow different forms of output.
If the _u_s_e_r___n_a_m_e is preceded by an asterisk (*), only ex
act matches with the user's E-mail address are reported.
OOPPTTIIOONNSS
--cc Output consists of the command line options for
ssffssppeeaakkeerr to connect to the matching user(s).
For example, if you want to connect to a dial-up
user whose E-mail address is ssmmuuddlleeyy@@iinntteerr
nnuutt..ccoomm, you can use the command:
ssffmmiikkee --tt ``ssffllwwll --cc ssmmuuddlleeyy@@iinntteerrnnuutt..ccoomm``
to connect to that person, as long as he's cur
rently connected to an Internet service provider
and running Speak Freely, even you don't know
the site name or IP address he's been assigned
for the current session.
--dd Enables debug output.
--hh_h_o_s_t_:_p_o_r_t
The query is sent to the named host (and option
al port number, in case the host doesn't use the
standard port, 2076). The --hh option overrides
any host and port specified by the SSPPEEAAKK
FFRREEEE__LLWWLL__AASSKK and/or SSPPEEAAKKFFRREEEE__LLWWLL__TTEELLLL vari
ables.
--ll The list of hosts which matched the _u_s_e_r___n_a_m_e is
shown in long form, including all information
the users supplied to the Look Who's Listening
server.
--mm Shows the server status message, if any. This

message provides information regarding the serv
er, such as the World-Wide Web URL where it pub
lishes the list of active users.
--uu Prints how-to-call information.

If no host (and optional port number) is specified, ssffllwwll
will use the host and port specified by the SSPPEEAAKK
FFRREEEE__LLWWLL__AASSKK environment variable, if defined. If SSPPEEAAKK
FFRREEEE__LLWWLL__AASSKK is not defined, the host name is taken from
the SSPPEEAAKKFFRREEEE__LLWWLL__TTEELLLL variable used by ssffssppeeaakkeerr to iden
tify its Look Who's Listening host.
BBUUGGSS
The number of matching items returned is limited to what
will fit in a single 512 byte packet. This is deliberate;
users who wish to browse active sites should consult the
HTML file published by the Look Who's Listening site
rather than make wild-card requests with ssffllwwll.
